How to properly care for your AYARI supplements

Congratulations, you have taken the first step in the right direction and we are proud of you.
You open our package and finally have your passionately made AYARI supplements in your hands - you are now ready to take your well-being to the next level!
At AYARI, we take great pride in producing exceptional supplements with well-tested ingredients and no unnecessary ballast. However, it is also important that you take good care of our supplements at home for maximum quality.
So let's start with the basics: Supplements behave similarly to food: As soon as you open them and they are exposed to light, air, heat and moisture, they can start to decompose - some faster than others.
That's why we seal our bottles in a strictly controlled environment during production, where we not only strictly regulate temperature and humidity, but also filter the air to ensure perfect conditions.
Of course, we don't have these conditions at home, which is exactly why you will find the note on every label: "Please store the product in a dry place, protected from light and not above 25 degrees."
But what exactly does that mean?
- "Dry" means the humidity. Here in Germany it is rather low, while in the southeast it can be up to 90 percent in summer. For food supplements, a relative humidity of less than 65 percent is generally required. Depending on where you live, the humidity can be more or less of a challenge for storing your food supplements.
When supplements are exposed to a humid environment and absorb moisture, they tend to clump or develop dark spots. While this does not affect the potency of a supplement, it does shorten its shelf life and makes it less visually appealing.
- "Not above 25 degrees" for most supplements usually means a temperature range of 18-25 degrees Celsius, which is also true for most prescription drugs. Of course, temperatures can sometimes fluctuate, although colder temperatures are likely to have less of an impact than higher temperatures, which can cause them to break down more quickly.
Here are 5 tips for ideal storage:
-
Get out of the bathroom! The humidity is relatively high there because everything we do there - showering, washing hands, brushing teeth - involves water.1
- The kitchen is also a no-go! Compared to other rooms, your kitchen is probably exposed to greater fluctuations in heat and humidity than other rooms.1
Areas near the stove, oven or sink should be avoided. A refrigerator may be cool, but it can have unpredictable humidity levels depending on how often we open it. If a supplement needs to be refrigerated, this will be indicated on the bottle, but we currently do not have any in our range.
3. Close the bottles properly again! The high-quality glass from which our bottles are made protects the inside ideally, but only if the lid is properly closed.
The stability of our products is tested in their original packaging. While pill boxes and pouches are convenient for organization, we recommend using them for travel and other short-term uses, not for storage.
- A cool, dry place with good air circulation is ideal, such as the bedroom. A bedside table drawer, for example, can be a good place for supplements you take in the morning or before bed, and is probably a better environment than the bathroom. The pantry (or wherever you keep spices, baked goods, etc.) is also often a good choice, as the conditions required to store these items are similar to those for supplements.
- Pay attention to the expiration date! Regardless of how you store it, we recommend throwing it away after the expiration date - even in the extremely unlikely event that you have never opened it.
